Deep thoughts...or not really?

Enjoy the ride is my personal motto. I wish I had more time to be on my bike so I could get out to North Shore and spend some QT alone enjoying this beautiful scene but I did something I have been wanting to a long time...I got a personalized cell cover and it had my favorite photo of Skye overlooking the lake. I am looking forward to spending some hard miles mountain biking this spring and summer. Can't wait to share this with some amazing friends. I miss my bike and I miss my bike buddies!

Oh and I can't wait to spend a lot of time here!! I miss this place so hard! Baseball season is coming soon and I am so psyched for Opening Day. March 31st is going to be an amazing day and a lot of fun. Can't wait to hang with my favorite baseball gang!

So many people waste so much energy trying to lift themselves up while putting others down. I have been frustrated, annoyed, and exhausted by these people until I realized, they work so hard trying to do these things because they are unhappy. I feel sorry for them really. If they would spend half he energy working on themselves that they spend trying to get to the rest of us, they may be happy.

Nobody has a perfect life. We all have problems. We all have challenges be they physical, mental, health, love, monetary or a combo of the above. I sat by and watched life for a long time thinking I didn't deserve to live it. I finally realized that nobody owes me anything except me. Everyone else is too wrapped up in their own problems to care about mine. Nobody is going to pity me or take care of me. I take care of myself. I work hard and I live right. I am not perfect but I am a good person. I'm not easy but I am worth it and so is happiness. Nobody else can make me happy. Just me.

This just makes me laugh. Nothing else needs to be said.

I am making my Super Bowl pick...okay I made this pick in Sept. I stand by my man! What can I say? I may also have this shirt...we will see.

I think you all can think of someone to share this with! ;-)

My life has changed a lot in the last 3 months but it just gets better. I appreciate everything and everyone who is a part of my life and I don't take a minute of it for granted. Life can change in the blink of an eye. Mine did. I have met so many amazing new friends in the last couple of months and they have been amazingly supportive. I also have some amazing old friends. I made a choice to focus on my blessings. I can't change the past and I can't be responsible for how anyone else views me or my choices. God knows the truth and He knows my heart. I am happy that these are the good old days and I look forward to years of them.

Hate away. Nobody is going to get to me. It's a total waste of energy trying.

Amen!

My diet lately: Rut City!

Somehow lately I have gotten in a very specific rut when it comes to what's on my diet.

This is 1/3

This is 1/3 and the final 1/3 is water sometimes sugar free tea for a change. Ok, who am I kidding I gave 1 cup of coffee at the office.

Surprisingly my calorie intake on this diet is very low although I am sure my sodium intake is off the charts. This means my pants are falling off but the scale hasn't moved in 2 weeks and that is including the time I had the flu was eating nothing but soup.

I started walking again and now it's freezing but I am going to get some form of workout in daily. Aside from that, how do you break out of a diet rut? I'm all ears! I'm getting a little annoyed and wanting to dive into a cheeseburger, head first.

Don't mind me, I will just be sitting I chewing a piece of jerky a million times!

Behaving Badly: an epidemic!

Somehow, somewhere, sometime we became a society that reacts to bad behavior by granting attention to those who can't control themselves in public. We talk for days about the football player that, in his excitement over a great play, starts attacking the team he beat. We glorify him by acknowledging the bad behavior and making him bigger than his team. When did acting poorly become the thing to do?

It doesn't stop there. We all know what the mayor of Toronto looks like. He is after all, an international joke! He gets drunk and makes a fool of himself on a regular basis and is, let's face it, an embarrassment to the city. Instead of letting Toronto impeach him for this disgraceful behavior and moving on, international media reports weekly on his latest fall from grace. The man clearly needs help not the media putting his face on TV and encouraging his bad behavior.

There is a thought that the terrorists in these public massacres know they will become famous after death and seek attention so much that they do the unthinkable. We all know what the "bad guys" look like after the fact. They look like us. They are messed up individuals but they got their faces on TV. Think about it. We all know what the terrorists look like from Columbine to Oklahoma City to 9-11 to Sandy Hook to Boston. Their faces are part of us like our own grandparents faces are part of us.

When a child acts up in school parents and teachers get together to handle the behavior but as adults we have become so fixated on behaving poorly that we no longer have any boundaries. People cyber-stalk other people trying to get one-up on them. We make everything out to be about us as individuals when some things have nothing to do with us.

Recently I have been faced with a choice. I could get mad as heck at my personal privacy being invaded which gives the power to others or I could ignore the invasion and pray for the parties who clearly need prayer more than anger. I am praying. I am trying to behave as God would want me to behave. I am trying to forgive those who hurt me or want to hurt me and hope that they will find peace. For me to get angry or get even would be reacting to someone else's bad behavior with my own.

We all have stories. We all have our own pain and our own private hell. Sometimes that pain is caught on camera and people spend a lot of time talking about it, casting stones, judging others. Sometimes that attention although negative is exactly what the person who behaved poorly wants.

I am not perfect. I make mistakes. I have suffered loss the same as anyone. I have my own pain to live with. I have my own problems to fight from the loss of loved ones to my fight against myself with eating disorders to my struggles to love myself and let others love me. Along the way I have made bad choices and lost people I loved because of it and I have made good choices and still lost people I loved because of it.

There are no easy answers in life. Nobody is granted life without struggle. What separates you and I from mayors and football players and terrorist is a thin line and when all is said and done, we are all just children in God's classroom doing the best we can living the life we are given. Some of us crave attention or worse, pity. Some of us need an outlet to get our feelings down and let them go. Some of us just want to be left alone.

Weekend Update

Hagerman Wild Life Preserve

One of the things I love about my relationship with J is that his hobbies are a little different from mine so we can introduce each other to new experiences. He loves the outdoors and so do I so we share the love but I get to go places with him that I didn't know existed like this amazing place in Sherman.

Buzzards eating a dead hog.

Dead hog and his birds of prey.

Buzzards that were scared by me walking toward them.

Geese in the wheat fields.

We saw 17 deer, 3 buck and the rest doe. So amazing!

I wanted to get out and walk but I was still sick so we are going back soon and we may get out and walk the woods or ride bikes.

The place is beautiful and it's free! Go out there early to see the deer and stay and make a day of it!

Sunday we watched football and I finished my state licensing for renewal. I am official for another 2 years!

Can't wait for my Super Bowl party and the friends and Peyton!! I am not a Broncos fan as much as a Peyton fan. I am a Colts and Cowboys fan but head to head, I am pulling for Peyton against the world and after the Super Bowl...Spring Training and Opening Day! I can't wait to sit at the Ballpark and share that with my honey too!

I would be remiss if I didn't say Happy MLK day! Everyone have a great day and remember the man with the dream!
