Weekend Randoms: Baseball, Life, Love & Easter!

Thursday night I decided I was going to give up all social media for 24 hours on Good Friday and to be honest, except for working on my new blog header on Blogger (I love it!) and creating a Facebook page for Simply Me the way I see it, I managed to stay off everything else. I know, I am shocked too! No Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest, Blogging, Instagram, Timehop, LinkedIn, not even Meet-Up. I really felt left out! I was forced to keep everything to myself or text my friends. Apparently I was texting Chance stuff he saw on Twitter 2-3 days ago. I am so lost! Crazy!

The great part about Friday is that I survived one pretty awful week. I was under the weather and under a lot of pressure. There is irony in the last thing I handled Friday afternoon. I had a situation involving a bike rider who's name is the same as someone I kind of had a personal relationship with in the past and who is a bike rider. The name is not really common so that was odd enough but in a week of near misses on costly blunders this one could have cost hundreds of thousands of dollars. Thankfully, I got it handled in under 40 minutes and put that baby to bed as I was running out the door.

We are officially 1 day from Easter and Opening Day! It is a double holiday! Jesus and Major League Baseball return on the same day and this makes me, simply happy!

Add to that a very real possibility this weekend will include a lot of time on my favorite bike and it is looking golden! (Obviously I wrote this before the flood last night! Boo to no trails east of Ft.Worth!) Plus I start my 30 Day Bike Challenge on Monday. Rain or shine!

By the way, I spoke with my uncle Thursday night and he is doing very well. He is finally home and while he will be off work for a time with that head injury he is upbeat! I thank every one of my friends and all of the perfect strangers who prayed for him.

I absolutely believe this is true for me and everyone who has ever felt they lost something or someone they really thought they wanted. Someone who just seemed to get you. Someone told me recently your soulmate isn't the one perfect person for you it is the one person you end up with who turns into the perfect person for you. I love this because for a long time I thought maybe my soulmate was killed in a tragic piano accident or maybe he screwed up and let me get away. Turns out I was wrong. My soulmate is not someone who I lost. My soulmate is someone who will never get lost, never go away, never abandon me. God has a plan and at some point I just decided to give in to His plan, be happy, and trust God. If He wants me to be with a guy trapped under a piano he will raise him. If He wants me to be with someone who tossed me aside, He will toss me right back. If He wants me to be with someone else, He will let me run into someone else on a bike at Northshore, Horseshoe, Erwin, RCP, LBH or River Legacy. Something like that.
Be happy people! Life is a joyous adventure and a gift! Live the present and as always

I am! Lent is over and my antibiotics are done! I get to drink and tweet again (lookout!!) plus watch baseball ride my bike and love! Life is amazing!

Mobile Monday Weekend Wrap Up!

USA! USA! USA! USA!

Friday:
My plans this weekend to mountain bike were delayed thanks to rain. I walked out of work Friday and got in the car to head to the trail and before I made it to the 2nd stop light it was pouring and I...was pouting.

So I headed home to get ready for my awesome Friday night of painting....wine glasses with Trish! (I broke lent hard too. Not only did I eat meat on Friday but I drank wine....lots of it and I think I semi-drunk texted Chance and he yelled at me and called me by my middle name which he does when he is yelling at me...just like a good dad or best friend.)

So...the glasses.

First I free handed my T's.

After a couple coats of red it was time to flip them and paint the baseballs...which you have to do backwards. Once the lines are painted and dried then you just paint the white and when it is all done....

Aren't they pretty?

I love my bike coffee cup!

I have no idea why I took this but you know...this is reality. Blah! No wonder I am single. Haha!

My mom and I had a text discussion because I am still not talking to her and it was basically an "enjoy the new house. I am not traveling to Rockwall" exchange. Okay, I had planned to go out there Sunday to ride Squabble but that was cancelled thanks to...rain!

My day got better when I got this email!

The rain kept me from hitting a trail with Khrystal ;( but not from my bike. I just couldn't take it anymore and finally I gave up and hit the concrete and you know what? It was glorious!!!

I was really happy to spend some time with the Dominican team Saturday where I got to see some of my favorite Ranger players!

I watched that crazy Mexico-Canada game too! Wow, Mexico, really?

I was cleaning Saturday and I found some Rangers promotional items I had picked up for someone last year and never had a chance to give to him. Nothing too exciting... A 40th anniversary program and a all-time Rangers poster. That made me a little sad for many reasons. Ah, well...moving on, I guess.

I am going to be honest, I had some stuff I needed to deal with and some decisions I need to make so Saturday night I wanted quiet and baseball so I stayed home and pondered my life changes and watched the USA play in the World Baseball Classic. It's like the Olympics and happens once every 4 years. You know the Olympics, right? Where baseball and softball are NOT played!

I really couldn't wait to spring forward! This is so important for my ability to ride safely. I can't wait to hit the trails after work again!

Oh, and I had to bake my wine glasses? Yes, you bake them for 45 minutes but you have to wait 24 hours to do it. I was nervous but they turned out perfect! My friends should be prepared to get Texas Rangers wine glasses as gifts in the future. I already have ideas for other designs!

I really missed Twitter Saturday! I wanted to chant with them watching USA! USA! baseball. I wanted to talk about plays and do what I do. I didn't. I watched Team USA and quietly or not so quietly screamed when David Wright hit the grand slam to break the tie! God, I love baseball!

Confession: y'all know by now I went to the University of Texas. Well I have this really involuntary habit of doing this when I am watching other teams that I care about do something awesome:

Team USA or Notre Dame. I just throw the Hook 'em! (Chance: I know you are making gagging noises. Stop it you annoying Aggie! This is your fault for having such great taste in friends and rotten taste in schools!)

I love snuggling with my girls on the weekend! Ries never let's me get photos of her but Sunday she just stood there posing!

I found Sadie snuggling in the sports room after my shower. She always kicks the other "animals" out of her bed. Poor Ranger Bear!

So have you all heard of Gizoogle.net?

Seriously go onto it and search your @TwitterID or your name. So funny! This is not a clean language site but I don't think I have ever seemed cooler!

I am thinking of changing my profiles to this version...cause I'm a skanky, gangsta!

Thanks to Rachel for texting me to try this!

This...makes me sad!

More baseball & concrete riding Sunday! Here I am ready to cheer Texas Rangers pitcher Derek Holland & Team USA!

So good to see this smile!!!

This guy is going to have a rebound season for Texas! I believe!

This is just awesome sauce! Under 3 weeks on Monday (20-Days---this is Sunday's photo)

Okay a few bike funnies...these made me laugh...so true!

When I went out to go shopping Sunday morning I found this on my door! I LOVE my new tumbler & can't wait to ride the woods! (Concrete riding is not as challenging)

She is biking on ice in a skirt and heels....I just can't even! Haha!!

Well....what can I say except maybe now you know why bike guys are so happy and nice! :-)

Don't say it! Haha!

This is so me!!

I sure hope so because mine needs some serious winter lazy work!!!

I'm posting this early because...well I want to so Happy Sunday/Monday!!

Kisses & Hugs!

Laura

Friday FUNday!!!

Oh, my!!! It's finally here! It's Friday! It's Friday and I am leaving early! It's Friday and I am leaving early to meet Khrystal! It's Friday and I am leaving early to meet Khrystal and RIDE my bike!!!

It's a bad picture but I love my "This girl loves to Mountain Bike" T!

Do you think I am a little bit excited about that???

Once my baby girl and I are done getting reacquainted I have to come home, shower and get ready to go see Trish. I am not going to tell you what we are doing because I will show you next week. It. Will. Be. Epic!

Saturday I am going to spend some time riding if the weather is good and probably go hang with my girl Rachel and who knows what?

I also want to mention one thing...about Lent. I really thought when I gave up Twitter the not posting to Twitter was going to be the hard part. (Yes a few thing still post but I am not actively tweeting. Other programs like my blog have Twitter access.) I thought I would miss it a lot. What I found is that I don't miss the random tweets about things making me crazy. Probably because I just email Rachel or text Chance. They will probably be very glad when Lent is over! Chance especially who just ignores me now. Where is the love?

But no! You know what has been hard? Not drinking when I go out! Oh my! Not having a margarita or a glass of wine with friends is really, really hard! Not having a glass of wine on Friday night after a really bad week is excruciating. I don't drink that much. I really don't but when you can't have something it is that much harder to live without! I mean honestly, who doesn't want Chik-fil-a three times as much on Sunday? I could eat tuna every day but make me eat fish on Friday and I want chicken or pizza.

I think that is human nature. We always want what we can't have more. We always want who we can't have more. Or, maybe it is just me who wants what and who she can't have....more.

Happy Friday! I intend to spend the weekend being happy with what and who I can have!

Mobile Monday: WOW!! WOW!! WOW!!!

Friday:

Days are always better when you start out right! My new coffee tumbler brings me happiness by reminding me to "Put the fun between my legs!"

I got some new Tulips thanks to Pro-Flower and a broken vase!
Rock and Worship Roadshow:

Here's a little background on R&W Roadshow from their website:
"The "Rock & Worship Roadshow" embarks on its fifth annual tour this spring with a new group of all-star musicians including MercyMe, Jeremy Camp, Tedashii, Kutless, Family Force 5, Luminate, Adam Cappa, Rhett Walker Band and Tim Timmons. This tour follows the very successful 2012 "Roadshow" which was named one of Pollstar's Top 50 Tours for Mid-
Year 2012."
This is my second year going and my humble opinion is they did even more amazing than last year! This year they were filming for a movie they are making and Dallas is the concert site they are using in the film because Mercy Me and several of the other artists are from DFW. So much fun! I'm gonna be a movie star!!! Send your autograph requests and my people will get with your people and make arrangements!

Before the concert we had dinner at PIRA which is in the AAC. To be fair, they have the most limited menu on earth which included not one single seafood dish and only three vegetarian dishes. Chips and salsa, a Greek Salad (not a big olive fan) and a veggie quesadilla. Since it was the first Friday of Lent there was no chicken or beef option for me. I am not really sure where Latin Fire fits in because this was bar food. Basic Burger and tacos. I ordered the quesadilla and got a soggy mess of beans and wet tortilla for $11.00! I hadn't eaten much since breakfast and I was so hungry I ate it all. I doubt I will ever go back and wouldn't recommend it. To be fair my friends who are not Catholic and were able to get the burger said it was good. Still, overall I would say it's way over-priced and for as slow as the service was and since it was not at all busy, I don't find a lot of excuse for the place. (It is very rare that you will ever hear me be critical of an establishment so you can imagine how bad my food really was.) On the plus side, it was cold outside and the place was pretty warm.

When we made it inside we found we were seated right up front!

Pretty amazing seats thanks to Rachel & her connections!! The only concert I have ever had better seats for was Chris Tomlin when I actually had C.T. within 8 feet of me all night.

Jeremy Camp came out and just electrified the crowed and I may or may not have fallen in instant love with his drummer. So much so that I actually looked him up mid-concert and yes, I admit it, I followed him on Twitter. Yes, I cheated that one time to follow him before I forgot how to spell his name! It's not an easy name!! Anyway, I have removed all Twitter apps from my phone and that's the only way I ever go in so there is no temptation of me "cheating" again. (Unless another hottie falls in my lap!)

Apparently I was accused of "cheating" Lent by some (or one) of my friends (let me guess who!) because my Four Square and Blog update. I turned Four Square off but I am not removing my blog so, sorry Ace but you will have to find another way to try to push my buttons. Nice try! :-P
If I were going to cheat Lent it would be a drink that I cheat over and not Twitter. All my close friends can reach me if they need me or miss me.

Mercy Me:

Ok, I admit I was a little annoyed at DFW native and Ranger fan Bart Millard tweeting about how the Rangers screwed up in not signing his friend Josh Hamilton but all is forgiven now! Wow! I have never been more moved.

Daily Dose of Chance time:
I was texting Chance durning the concert and I said something really mean (I am sorry & you are still my favorite muggle!) which of course means I spent part of yet another concert crying! I swear I am just going to get waterproof mascara for concerts from now on! Rachel thinks I am a lunatic because I end up crying at every concert over some foolishness!! (Since he texted Rachel and told her to hug me and tell me it was ok and he isn't mad...I have to assume he has forgiven my stupidity.)

However, by the time Jeremy Camp and Mercy Me were done I remembered that while I may be a complete idiot sometimes and I may also cry a river of tears over some silly and some not silly boys like every 5 days...God loves the hot, crazy mess that He made and it will all work out exactly as He (and Chance) promised me it will...for the best!

The DART ride home was crowded but it is still my favorite way to get to the AAC. Hello Arlington, are you listening? Hook it up with DART & TRE to get to Rangers Ballpark. I will even let you throw in Jerry World for kicks but remember...The Rangers came first and bring more money your way with 81 home games plus post-season something the Cowboys haven't brought in well, have not brought Arlington!
Saturday:
I spent a quiet day.
Saturday night was snuggle time on the couch (where is Ian when I need him?) and movies!!

Kinda boring but I feel like I run too much and sometimes need calm and quiet!
Sunday:
I was going to go riding but the pain in my side that I fell asleep with Saturday became a pain in my side and back Sunday. So there was that. Boo!
So I watched movies, played on Pinterest....

and played this crazy identity guessing game that I found...on Pinterest called Akinator.

It asks you questions about someone real or fictional.

And in about 20 questions it will guess who you are thinking of.  I have to admit...I only fooled it twice.  It eventually figured out who I was talking about. It is strange how it does it. I was sure that  had it fooled with Jurickson Profar....and  did the first time but the second time it got it.
Of course a woman stuck at home alone in pain has three choices: sleep, shop or pray. (Normally I would use this time to drive my Twitter followers nuts but alas, Lent has saved them...and me from apparently a ton of drama! REALLY?  At this rate, I am not coming back to Twitter.  Just Saying).  I did listen to some Christian music and prayed . Caught up some more on Downton Abbey and OMG!!! DOWNTON ABBEY!!!!
I found this awesome site that sells BIKE jewelry and am in love! Feel free to buy me any of this secret admirer and anyone who loves me.

Today I am rocking my concert shirt! Love this song!

Be Happy everyone!  Miss you, love you, you crazies!

Simply,

Laura
