What I am not loving and what I am.

I know, I know.   I haven't written a blog in 2 weeks and here I am writing about stuff I don't like.  I apologize.

Here is what I am not loving right now.

*Major League Baseball:
They want to change the rules of the game in an effort to speed up game times by changing the rules of an intentional walk and changing the strike zone.  These are not minor changes people.  They change the entire history of the game drastically.  Currently issuing an intentional walk requires the pitcher to throw 4 balls outside the strike zone and the catcher to catch the balls.  This usually happens very quickly and without problems but sometimes a ball gets away and runners advance.  I hate this rule change proposal which simply requires a pitcher to notify the ump that they are walking to batter and the batter takes his base.   The strike zone is going to be raised above the knee...because pitchers are getting too many strikes called.  What?  This is the same strike zone that has been in effect in pro ball since the beginning of time.  Pitchers are suppose to get strikes and hitters should be able to hit them.  So stupid.

The Texas Rangers:
No, I don't hate my team but last week they announced plans to replace the current ballpark, a 22 year old beauty, with a new, domed amusement park like complex.  There is nothing wrong with the current park except that they can't retrofit it with a dome and it is hot in Texas.  Well no kidding. It's Texas.  I wish they had built a retractable roof on The Ballpark too but I also love the charm of the current park and while the plans for the new couples are impressive, I can't help but think they are trying to  compete  now with Jerry World next door and not sticking with a traditional ballpark. Meh.

*My current work hours:
I am literally away from my home for over 12 hours a day.  I hardly see my husband, dogs, chickens and ducks.  It just sucks.   Not to mention I am working my bottom off and getting nowhere fast when I am at work. Sigh.

*Social Media:
I don't know what it is about social media that gives people the feeling they have a right to judge your life but I am over it.  I have quit reading NextDoor which at first I thought was an amazing app to keep people informed of things happening in your area. I have personally used it to reunite a lost owner with his dog.   That made me feel good.  Now people are mad about the lost dog posts!  Plus I keep seeing posts on other social media that say "when a friend is making a mistake that will ruin their life and you can't do anything about it". I hate these posts.  Maybe it's because I have personally been on the receiving end of these "tough love" posts and the reason? People didn't approve of my relationship. You know, the one that ended up with me happily married.  Those people were wrong and instead of talking to me about their concerns they posted on social media about them.  It just drives me crazy. Let people make mistakes and learn from them and keep your opinions where they belong.  In a one on one conversation with your "friend" or to yourself.  If you are wrong, you lose a friend.   Trust me, your friend will get over it. I did.  I just feel sorry for the people posting them.  Someday they will look around and realize that THEY lost. REAL friendship.

*The Cell phone saga:
We have been fighting our cell carrier to get things straight for over a month now. Their service sucks and the people are simply clueless about communication.  You know the one that starts with "A".  Well this month, after finally thinking we had it straight we got 2 bills totaling over $825 combined.  I don't know what the heck they are thinking but I will be shopping for another carrier in the fall when my contract is up and ending a 16 year relationship.  So if anyone has recommendations of a good carrier please share!

Okay that's enough of my complaints. Here is what I am loving:

*Watching my momma hen raise her babies.  Nature is amazing! See the little heads poking out?  There are actually 5 baby chicks but some were hiding under mama.

*Getting to spend some time in East Texas at our land.  This is one of the ponds.  We work our bottoms off out there but it is so rewarding.  This past weekend we went out to fix the old tractor and get some much needed work in.  We got to spend time with my honey's buddies and we talked about moving out there someday.  Hoping someday is about 5 years from now.  Side note:  the dogs love it out there. They run around for hours and come home and sleep for a day.

And this is a wild rose bush I found growing which I am going to try getting a shoot off for my in town yard.  Prettiest roses I have ever seen!

We also have wild berries growing and I made a pie.  We keep forgetting to actually eat it but it looks pretty!

*Yu Darvish is making his first season start Saturday and my husband and I will be in the Ballpark to cheer him on.  I can't wait.  I love Yu and I have missed him.  He had Tommy John surgery at the end of last season.  Fingers crossed that he comes back healthy and strong!

*My husband:
First he works his butt off day in and day out in a physically demanding job.  For those of you who have never been in a relationship with a blue collar worker, trust me, nobody works harder.  Nobody deserves to be cheered more.  What he does, he loves, but it takes its toll on him physically.  But he doesn't stop.  Because I work so late, he is doing more of the housework.  He has really picked up for me and I feel so damn guilty that all I can do is try and make him feel special on the weekends when we do get time together.  I married right.  I can't express in words how grateful I am to have a good man to come home to, who makes me laugh and who works his tail off for his family.

What I'm Loving and Have a Pinteresting Wednesday 13: the one with Muscadine Wine

Join My Wednesday Blog Hop

It is Wednesday so it is time for What I'm Loving and Have a Pinteresting Wednesday!  Yay!!! Join me for the blog hop below by linking your post with what you are loving this week.

What I'm Loving:
We had visitors this morning
I love living in the country.  You never know who is coming to visit.  These are our neighbor's ducks and along with his chickens they come to visit several times a week. I swear when I saw them coming up our front walk, I half expected them to be carrying suitcases.

My Husband:
I have had a really hard several weeks month and he has been just wonderfully supportive.  There are several changes that are going on, none of which I want to talk about and all of which are stressing me out a LOT, and he has been wonderful.  I am so lucky to have him.  When they say you should marry your best friend they aren't kidding.  I did and I can't tell you how nice it is to come home and know that my best friend is there waiting for me.

A weekend of nothing special:
We have had people or kids over for five weeks in a row and I am so looking forward to peace and quiet this weekend.  I love having people over but I am worn out cooking and cleaning and cooking and cleaning up after cooking.  I am ready for frozen pizza and not having to do 5 loads of dishes before we start again entertaining for the 4th of July.

Protein Shakes:
Let me be clear, while I don't really love them, I am trying really hard to lose weigh and I love how effective they are and helping me reach that goal.

Have a Pinteresting Wednesday:

What I'm loving and Have a Pinteresting Day: The one with Game of Thrones and Taquitos

It's time for my favorite blog hop of the week...mine!  What I'm Loving and Have a Pinteresting Wednesday where you get to share all the amazing things you are loving this week and all the great things you pinned!

What I'm Loving:

*I finally got my sign made for the chicken coop door.   I used a rainbow selection of Unicorn SPiT on this and totally love it.   Now to be fair, I didn't go crazy customizing it.  I just made sure to water seal it with outdoor sealer and moved on after the writing and a little stencil action.  The chicks seem to love it.

The Chick Inn
*I have needed a haircut since about a month after my wedding.  For those keeping score at home, I got married 9/13/14.  That's a long time to put of getting a trim.

My new haircut

*I found this picture of Sadie on the Facebook account I keep saying I am going to delete.  Here is the problem, it has all the great photos.  SIGH.
Sadie Kisses

*Alright, so my hubby introduced me to Scott and Jennifer about 18 months ago and since that time they have become special friends of mine but more importantly, Scott and Jennifer and I keep each other apprised of the unmarked sales at WINCO.   I am loving the 3/4 inch pork chops we got for 99 cents a pound last weekend.   I wish you could see how beautiful these things are!
Pig is good
*Game of Thrones:
The Coldplay Video, It's 12 minutes long but awesome!

Does this show just make everyone go "Oh. My. Gawd!" every single week or is it just me?   I have to admit, I am in total love with John Snow but aside from that....Oh. My. Gawd!

Bad Lip Reading.

So I love Game of Thrones so much that I spent lunch yesterday looking at videos.

And this Seth Meyer video just makes me laugh.   I can't help it. Winter is coming!

*Dancing on my back deck with my husband Saturday night.   Being married to your best friend really is the amazing.  When I feel like I have nobody in the world, he is right there.  (It's only a problem when he is driving me crazy or when I need sensitivity.  He doesn't do heartwarming.)
We had a friend of his and his girlfriend who are really like the son and daughter I never had at this point, spend the weekend with us and we had a great time just dancing and listening to music.   Jake came over to help work on the truck but the hubby and the kid together are like Lucy and Ethel.

Have a Pinteresting Day!

Yesterday I told you how Texas was having a major meltdown over the loss of these:

Whataburger Taquitos!
Source For Whataburger Taquitos
Honestly, I don't get it because I cook better than every fast food place I have ever eaten and my husband makes better hamburgers than pretty much anyone I have ever met....but I promised I would share pins with a recipe so here they are and frankly, I think they all look better than Whataburger, especially that one with the avocado! YUM!!!!

Breakfast Tacos {aka Whataburger’s Sausage Egg & Cheese Taquitos}

Keeping with the food theme here are a few other things I have pinned:

Carnitas recipe: My Mexican husband says this is the best carnitas he has ever had. That is quite the endorsement since every other time it was made professionally.

I am dying to make some pork carnitas.  I mean....oh my!

And for those of you who just can't fathom life without 2am taquitos, put the beer down and pull out a pan of this from the fridge to microwave:

My boys are big fans of breakfast burritos, so I had a hunch that these Breakfast Enchiladas would go over pretty well. They were a big hit! I especially love that they can be put together the nigh...

Shredded hash browns and cheese nests baked until crispy topped with a baked eggs, crumbled bacon and more cheese. Served with chilled avocado slices.

What I'm Loving Wednesday: It's all about the base

Is it wrong to start out my What I am loving post with my new blog sight?  I picked fabric that I love and that matches my kitchen.  (Wouldn't that make amazing seat cushions for table chairs in a country kitchen?)

Urban Decay Naked
I have tried many, many, many foundations and I honestly can't say enough about Urban Decay Naked.   It is light and so natural looking.   I love that it fixes my 'Faults' and still feels like I have no make-up on.   Best of all, Ulta told me when I was in Saturday they have a whole bunch of new stuff coming out Thursday...so excited.   BTW, these glasses are my emergency, I forgot glasses-glasses.
Trader Joe's Obsession
I love so many things from Trader Joe's but these nut butters are rocking my world right now in the midst of this Whole 30 challenge.   I am not perfect, BTW.  I cheat with Stevia in my coffee.  I admit it but to be honest, I can't find any reason not to use Stevia.  Aside from that, I have done pretty well. I don't have the sugar cravings and I am not missing my diet soda anymore.   I love eating veggies and fruit so much and I forgot that because chocolate and chips were always easier.  Anyway, add Trader Joe's organic salsa to the list of stuff I love from them and you have my new go to list of 'junk' foods.

This stuff is so awesome. I can't wait until I can actually use it.

So pretty...for a gun!
I have been bugging my hubby for my own gun thinking if I use the same gun and get familiar with it I will be a better shot and ready to take down that wild hog. We had been talking about buying me a .247 when I asked him about a 30-06 and he realized 1.hey that's a great idea and 2. I have one I don't use!  Best part of this?  I get to pick out a Valentines Day gift now that isn't a gun and this beautiful gun is mine to use!  I already know what I want and have it picked out.   I am so excited.  Can you say BLING?

Because I can never stick to one topic on Wed!

These Pins.  If you don't follow me on Pinterest, click on the link and you can keep up with all the things I am pinning but I picked out a few favs.

I like the idea of framing the TV with wood planks. I think I might just put some planks directly on the wall and center the TV on it instead of doing floor to ceiling.
OMG!

What I'm Loving Wednesday:

It's been a rough 10 days with a lot of reason to reflect on the good things because there have been a lot of reminders of the sad things.

No list starts without coffee because life without coffee is incomplete.

My Rangers shoes that I painted. These are kind of fun and I totally love doing silly stuff like this.

There are a lot of reasons why I have reminded myself to appreciate the moments because life is short and nobody is guaranteed tomorrow.

-Game of Thrones: my special guy got me re-hooked on this show and now I can't wait to see what's coming next. I started late so I don't really know everything that happened after I had stopped watching this after season one but I have picked up a show here and there and then totally became obsessed this season.

If you follow my blog or know me at all you may have picked up in the recurring I am not a hunter but I am dating one but I love to shop theme. I keep telling him that shopping is a sport. Finally, I have evidence! It is actually hunting and gathering. I love it!

WILW, OHP, WCW: It's my birthday and I am SO cute!

Hello, I'm Riesling but my friends call me Ries and today is my 4th birthday. My Mommy said I could write her blog today so I could show the world how lucky she is to have me. I am, after all, so pretty, as you can see by the picture of me now and the first day I came home with mommy.

So Mommy gave me a few pointers on this blog thing.  You humans sure do have funny customs.  You feel the need to verbalize how you are feeling.  Dogs are so much more efficient!  We sniff each others butts.  What?  All I need to know I can find out that way!  Anyway, Mommy says on Wednsdays we link up with Jamie  for What I'm Loving Wednesday!  So, let's do it!

First of all I love food.  I mean, honestly Mommy doesn't feed me enough.  She says I am too chubby but I keep telling her I'm big boned and my fur adds an extra five eight pounds! I am lucky though because Mommy always feels guilty if she doesn't give me exactly what she gives my sister Sadie who is crazy...no seriously,  I worry about her.  Anyway, Mommy has to bribe Sadie to come inside so I get treats just for sitting!

This is my crazy sister Sadie.  She is what they call a wirehaired dachshund.  That means she is a half breed but I love her anyway.  She is really hyper (Mommy says that is the Terrier half?)  and she likes to roll around and play chase with me.  I let her for a little bit and then it is nap time.  That's when Sadie goes outside to patrol the backyard and scare away all the predators.
I love naps.  I love sleeping in my Mommy's bed and under Mommy's bed but my favorite place to sleep is on the pillow of the couch behind my Mommy's head.  She loves to watch this thing called TV and there is usually something called baseball on so I sleep while she yells at  cheer for the Rangers.  I am really much more a football kind of girl.  I love the Texas Longhorns.  I have a BEVO collar and burnt orange is my favorite color! Mommy said if I had been a boy my name was going to be BEVO.  What a silly name!  Who names their dog after a cow?   I love my name.  I am named after wine.  How can it get better?  Don't tell Mommy because she doesn't know but sometimes when Mommy isn't looking, Sadie and I try to get sips of her wine.  We love wine!  We love pizza too and chicken and peanut butter.  Well, really, we love food.

I don't want you to think that all Sadie and I do is sleep.  It seems that way because that is what we are doing when we are the cutest! Well, really, we are always the cutest but look how cute we are!  Mommy has pillows that match our coloring.  Sadie and I try and hide and see if Mommy can see us.  Anyway, (BTW My Mommy said I wouldn't get birthday cake tonight if I typed "anyways" in her blog because it drive her crazy.  She is so silly.  The woman can't even spell and I have seen some of her Tweets and the typos are just CRAY but she hates that word and all of her friends use it now just to drive her crazy. I want puppy cupcakes so I am NOT going to make Mommy mad. She can't stay mad at me anyway, I am too cute!)  Anyway, I LOVE walks.  It is true.  I love sniffing everything. It is so fun!  There is this rock down the street in one of our neighbors yards and it smells so good that Sadie and I have to spend 5 minutes sniffing it whenever we walk past! What can I say? Nirvana!!

I also love giving kisses.  I am not a crazy kisser like Sadie.  I will just make sure you didn't miss any spots when you shower.  Once in a while I sneek up on Mommy unaware and kiss her face.  She say she hates that and she always yells "Oh Ries, no!!"  but she is usually laughing.  I don't understand humans. My
Aunt Rachel hates kisses and used to beat  block Sadie and I with a pillow. She also gave us lectures about "No LICKING!"  Silly Aunt Rachel thinks we listen!

I am not much for dog toys but Sadie loves them so I thought I would mention them anyway.  Mommy and Sadie play toss sometimes but usually I am trying to get Mommy to pet me while this goes on.  Sometimes when Mommy is working out she looks so hot so I love to go up and snuggle with her and love on her when she is doing sit-ups.  Mommy is always trying to be thinner and I just don't know why she doesn't see she is so pretty and wonderful just the way she is?  Aunt Rachel and Uncle Chance tell her that all the time  Can we talk about Uncle Chance for a minute?  He is so silly.  He is an Aggie fan but I don't hold that against him. Sadie does.  She doesn't like him and barks at him whenever he comes over.  That makes me bark too...at Sadie for being so stupid.  Mommy ends up throwing us outside next.  I hate that!  I want to visit too!

Mommy also said we like to link up with Michelle  and share our Pins on Oh, How Pinteresting so I thought I would share how great a certain German hound is.

I do love to whine.  It is true.  I think it drives Mommy crazy but I always get what I want!

Have I mentioned that  I love to eat?   Food is so good that I thought I would share my favorite kibble!

Mommy says Blue Buffalo makes me pretty but how is it possible I am any prettier?  I am the sweetest and cutest thing ever!

I just want to remind you, if you have a stubborn Dachshund at home...we can be bribbed with treats!

We are also very smart and motivated by our tummies.  Once I climbed up my Mommy's stability ball to get treats off the table.  A girl has to do what a girl has to do!

Sadie and I keep telling Mommy this is the perfect diet plan for her.  Share with us

Before I go nap, I want to end on this little pin about love. Mommy was sad for a while about love and I used to have to snuggle up with her to make her happy.  She isn't sad anymore.  She says it is okay to have a broken heart because hearts can be fixed and her heart just needs to be super glued back together.  She doesn't cry anymore and I am really happy about that because I love her and her friends love her and she is learning to love herself and most importantly Mommy is learning that she is enough and she is not broken and personally, I think anyone who let her go is just plain stupid but that is just me, and I love her.

Mommy says she always ends these posts with "Enjoy the ride" (she is a little obsessed with this thing she has in the house called a bike.  She even calls it Skye.  That is so silly!  Who names a bike?)  but that sounds like a lot of work to me so I prefer, Enjoy the nap!

One last link up!

Laura Ries
