Game of Thrones episode 2

Week Two of Game of Thrones Recap: Warning Spoilers and Sarcasm included.
Bran seems to be mysteriously bigger this season.  Weird how that happens with kids.
We started with Bran who we hadn't really seen in a year.  He was visiting the past.

Where he observed his father and uncle playing as kids and saw his long dead aunt.  You know the one that may really be Jon Snow's mom?

Then we ended up back at the wall where the Wildlinga came to the rescue of the few remaining loyal Jon Snow Nights Watch.  I am pretty sure I cheered at this point in the show.

Until everyone went to visit Jon's still dead self.  Yep...still dead.  They decided to burn his body so the Wildlings were going to collect fire wood.
Still dead
Poor Jon.  Just an aside here, there were a ton of close ups of Jon and Kit does an amazing job playing dead.  I mean, you don't see him breath. Is this man alive in real life?
Still dead
Next we learn Cersi has been banned from attending her daughter's funeral by the king, her son.

Meanwhile Jamie, has a talk with his nephew/son, the king and tells him to visit his oh so loving mother.  Poor Cersi, I mean she is an evil witch but she only has one child left and let's be honest, he is a weak little coward.

Does Ramsay's story remind anyone else of Judas or just me?
Ramsay gives his father a hug of congratulations on the birth of his 2nd son and promptly stabs him to death. Then feeds his newborn baby brother and step mother to the dogs.  Ramsay is the most vial character ever to dominate my TV screen and all I could think when this was going on was, God I hope he dies a truly miserable death.  It is fun to watch him because there is simply nothing off limits but he is so rotten to the core that you hate every breath he takes.
Still dead
Meanwhile Jon is still dead and they convince Milasandra to try to bring him back through magic.  This takes a pep talk because she has lost her faith in her visions.   Seems to me, since she was so convinced Jon was suppose to live, she would have figured out that her visions included her bringing Jon back from the dead but nobody had any faith really, except the fans.  We knew, right?
Sleeping peacefully
And the wolf of course who is the only one who never left Jon's side.  One minute he is sleeping peacefully guarding his still dead master.
But who didn't know this was about to happen?
Then suddenly he is awake!
dead
And so is Jon.
NOT DEAD!
And all I could think is "Hurry up Sunday night because I am ready to see what happens next!"

A friend said to me "They should have tried to burn the body and it wouldn't burn."  Given the rumors about Jon really being half Targaryen and half Stark that would have been awesome but maybe it would have been too much of a give away, I don't know.  Still, it would have been awesome.

Mixed in with this was some of "the girl" business but honestly I am not going over it because I am sick to death of the many faces story line and I am starting to not care about what happens to "the girl".  I want Arya to own being a Stark and not forget herself.  The whole thing truly bores me and I sigh when it comes on.

Sorry it's short.  I have been spending my free time this week fighting with my cell phone company.  Always a joy.  They have managed to suck all
Life out of me!

What I'm loving and Have a Pinteresting Day: The one with Game of Thrones and Taquitos

It's time for my favorite blog hop of the week...mine!  What I'm Loving and Have a Pinteresting Wednesday where you get to share all the amazing things you are loving this week and all the great things you pinned!

What I'm Loving:

*I finally got my sign made for the chicken coop door.   I used a rainbow selection of Unicorn SPiT on this and totally love it.   Now to be fair, I didn't go crazy customizing it.  I just made sure to water seal it with outdoor sealer and moved on after the writing and a little stencil action.  The chicks seem to love it.

The Chick Inn
*I have needed a haircut since about a month after my wedding.  For those keeping score at home, I got married 9/13/14.  That's a long time to put of getting a trim.

My new haircut

*I found this picture of Sadie on the Facebook account I keep saying I am going to delete.  Here is the problem, it has all the great photos.  SIGH.
Sadie Kisses

*Alright, so my hubby introduced me to Scott and Jennifer about 18 months ago and since that time they have become special friends of mine but more importantly, Scott and Jennifer and I keep each other apprised of the unmarked sales at WINCO.   I am loving the 3/4 inch pork chops we got for 99 cents a pound last weekend.   I wish you could see how beautiful these things are!
Pig is good
*Game of Thrones:
The Coldplay Video, It's 12 minutes long but awesome!

Does this show just make everyone go "Oh. My. Gawd!" every single week or is it just me?   I have to admit, I am in total love with John Snow but aside from that....Oh. My. Gawd!

Bad Lip Reading.

So I love Game of Thrones so much that I spent lunch yesterday looking at videos.

And this Seth Meyer video just makes me laugh.   I can't help it. Winter is coming!

*Dancing on my back deck with my husband Saturday night.   Being married to your best friend really is the amazing.  When I feel like I have nobody in the world, he is right there.  (It's only a problem when he is driving me crazy or when I need sensitivity.  He doesn't do heartwarming.)
We had a friend of his and his girlfriend who are really like the son and daughter I never had at this point, spend the weekend with us and we had a great time just dancing and listening to music.   Jake came over to help work on the truck but the hubby and the kid together are like Lucy and Ethel.

Have a Pinteresting Day!

Yesterday I told you how Texas was having a major meltdown over the loss of these:

Whataburger Taquitos!
Source For Whataburger Taquitos
Honestly, I don't get it because I cook better than every fast food place I have ever eaten and my husband makes better hamburgers than pretty much anyone I have ever met....but I promised I would share pins with a recipe so here they are and frankly, I think they all look better than Whataburger, especially that one with the avocado! YUM!!!!

Breakfast Tacos {aka Whataburger’s Sausage Egg & Cheese Taquitos}

Keeping with the food theme here are a few other things I have pinned:

Carnitas recipe: My Mexican husband says this is the best carnitas he has ever had. That is quite the endorsement since every other time it was made professionally.

I am dying to make some pork carnitas.  I mean....oh my!

And for those of you who just can't fathom life without 2am taquitos, put the beer down and pull out a pan of this from the fridge to microwave:

My boys are big fans of breakfast burritos, so I had a hunch that these Breakfast Enchiladas would go over pretty well. They were a big hit! I especially love that they can be put together the nigh...

Shredded hash browns and cheese nests baked until crispy topped with a baked eggs, crumbled bacon and more cheese. Served with chilled avocado slices.

And if all that doesn't do it, I even have a recipe for this:

homemade brown sugar pop tarts...a bit healthier than the boxed stuff

Mobile Monday and Weekend Update:Fishing and Farming, March Madness and The Walking Dead

Farming:

Friday night we planted tomato and pepper plants in our garden!  My husband was sweet enough to remember I don't like green peppers so he bought red and yellow pepper plants.  I am so excited.   I actually love the red and yellow.  I know most people think they taste the same.  They don't.   Green actually make my physically sick.   We also planted Jalapeno peppers because it is Texas y'all!

Sunday we planted 6 knockout rose bushes which I am so excited about.  I left all my old roses at the house I sold last August and I think the new owner has torn them all out.  This almost killed me because I had some very special varieties there.  Anyway, moving on, I found some knockouts and planted them but I still want to get a few other bushes that are not the knockout variety but have specific colors because there are a few I just love.

Also, after planting 2 peach trees and 2 pear trees and getting ready to plant 2 pecans (we are debating where for those) we decided we had room for one more fruit tree in the front and since I feel like 2 of the above are more than enough, I decided to go plum.  Husband wants a fig too but I can't find one and we have 1.2 acres so I am pretty sure we can find a spot.  :)

Have I mentioned that in a few years I am going to need to learn to can?  Seriously, either that or I am going to have to give a lot of fruit parties!

Fishing:
The lake was beautiful!
Saturday morning we woke up around 3am (that was the dogs fault) and by 4:45 we were on our way to the lake.   I made a mess of breakfast tacos to eat all day because we planned to fish the day away.

Hubs is so cute when he is serious about something!
Now, to be fair, I am not much of a fisherwoman, in fact, I like crappie fishing not much at all.  Jigging isn't really my thing.  I like casting my line and waiting for my fish to find my bait not constantly, every 15 seconds moving my line and dropping it down into a hole.  My arms hurt after a day of jigging but hubby loves it and he is good to me so I try to be good back. :)

My Crappie is in there, prob the Big  little one!
We had a slow day but believe it or not, these 14 males (yep, all males) yielded a bunch of fish for our fish fry.   I caught one crappie and one big mouth bass.   Gotta admit, the bass was the  most fun thing ever. They fight like crazy but dang they are fun to catch.  We don't keep them though.

After we got home because a day on the lake wasn't enough work, hubs decided to work on the garden a little more and then we watched Notre Dame-Kentucky.   Now, if you are new, you don't know but my birth family and I are big time Notre Dame fans,   I mean, live, die, and bleed blue and gold.  In fact, Notre Dame plays Texas in the first game of the college football season in 2015 and even though I went to Texas and am a Longhorn, I always cheer, cheer for Old Notre Dame when they go head to head.   Only time I ever do that but it is in my blood.  Anyway, back to Saturday, I have never been more proud to be a Notre Dame fan.  They were not suppose to play with Kentucky and they nearly beat them.  They were amazing actually.   That aside, I went into the game thinking if Notre Dame didn't win, I would pull for Kentucky and the undefeated season.   2.3 seconds of listening to their total idiot of a head coach and his arrogant, obnoxious, and supreme lack of anything resembling sportsmanship later and I can't wait for someone to take him down.

Meanwhile, Sunday night the Notre Dame women advanced to the final four.   Yay Lady Irish!!!

The Walking Dead:

I am going to try really hard not to spoil anything for anyone who didn't watch last night.  Let me just say this, My husband has a hard time staying up for the show on Sunday night and usually falls asleep next to me while I watch either in bed or on the couch.  Last night was no different except for two things, the season finale was 90 minutes and I woke him up at least twice screaming at the TV in fear/horror!  That episode was so intense and I am going to watch it again, maybe tonight because I need to understand everything and I may have to watch it a third time because that is how much there was there.   So much going on and I was just wishing there was 5 more minutes when the end finally happened.   Oh. My. Gawd!!!

Thankfully, in a couple of weeks I will have a few things to occupy my thoughts on Sunday night, Rangers baseball, Game of Thrones, and endless furniture projects to finish!  Otherwise, it would be a very long summer.  Oh. My. Gawd, The Walking DEAD!!!!   Oh and the new Walking Dead spin off.  I am so excited about that too!

Manic Monday: 50 Shades of entertainment

Texas may not be under Blizzar conditions but we woke up to freezing rain this morning in DFW and we expect possible ice tomorrow.  The metroplex will virtually shut down with all of our bridges and overpasses should be get ice tonight....so secretly I am kind of hoping for ice.  Today has been such a Monday.   Sadly, I had so many great ideas for a post for today and I can't recall a single one right now!  Typical.

So instead I thought, because I had shared some kind of deep stuff and sappy-emotional stuff lately, I would share something lighter.

50 Shades of bored:
I don't understand the fascination with this book series at all.  I tried to read the first book and got maybe halfway through before I  tossed the book across the room put the book on the coffee table and buried it under a pile of magazines never to be seen again.  I just couldn't care less about the characters and I found the writing so lacking there was no way I wanted to invest another moment of my time in that book.  It was a good remedy for insomnia but I heard some single lady on the radio say she has read the series 4 times because she just loves it and I can't help but think, what am I missing?

Saturday Night Live 40th Anniversary Episode:
I have to admit that I loved almost every minute of the show.  I came in about 45 minutes late and I really wish we had taped it.  I enjoyed the look back and the memories so very much.  I was a little confused about why Chris Rock spent more time talking about Eddie Murphy then Eddie Murphy spent talking and I laughed at myself when I literally sighed in relief that Miley Cyrus had cloths on but I felt so overwhelmed by Paul Simon's performance and I was just glad Paul McCartney is still around.   I totally get that Kanye West has made his career pushing the box but could he not just turn it off for one night?  This wasn't suppose to be a night about how weird Kanye is and yet the main drawback to the whole show was Kanye's performance.  Actually, the main drawback was that Kanye was invited to perform at all.   Aside from that it was amazing seeing all the stars from the past and I absolutely had to hold back tears when I watched the tribute piece to those SNL has lost over the years.  So much talent has come off that stage.  So many laughs.  Is there anyone alive who hasn't been touched by SNL?

Gone Girl:
I read the book first and watched the movie Friday night.  I thought the performances were good but considering I knew exactly how screwed up these characters were to begin with I found myself putting up barriers as I watched the movie.  I did not want to get reinvested in these people because I didn't like them the first time.   I did think Ben Affleck made Nick Dunne a lot more likable in the movie, which says a lot about the fact that leaving out the first person point of view helped redeem Nick a lot.  There is still nothing about Amy Dunne to like. It is a strange thing to hate the characters, not really like the book and although I did kind of enjoy the movie in the end, I feel like it is a good read and the movie was worth the time invested.   I can't explain it but I guess it becomes about being fascinated with the train wreck and not being able to stop looking combined with knowing that inside we are all just a little bit less mentally sound than we appear to be.  Some of us, like Amy, do a really good job of hiding just how disturbed we are.  Most of us, just feel on the edge at times and walk slowly away and coming back to normal.

10 BOOKS YOU MUST READ IF YOU LOVED 'GONE GIRL. Didn't love Gone Girl, but like this list!

The Walking Dead:
I have to admit, I haven't caught up since it came back 2 weeks ago.  I didn't realize it was back and when I planned last night as my catch up night, I ended up watching SNL instead so, please nobody spoil it for me.

South Park:
I know this is stupid.  I know this show has been out for 15 years.   I know, I know, I know, but I never watched it until......Joe.  Now I can't get enough of the stupidity of it.  Seriously, I think I fall asleep to South Park almost every night. I laugh at some of it.  I cringe at a lot of it.  I roll my eyes at most of it but every once in a blue moon there is a little piece of gold hidden in one of those stupid cartoons that just makes it worth it.   The characters just make me laugh and that's okay M'kay?
South Park. (: ...BTW, GET YOUR SOUTH PARK APP: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.JERASeng.Worldsouthpark

CNN:
I wake up to CNN because life isn't life if you don't know what ISIS is doing and that is just sad.  I wish I could just forget them.  Don't we all?

What I am looking forward to:

Game of Thrones:
Just waiting...waiting...waiting.

What I am reading:
The Monster of Florence-I really enjoyed this true crime novel about a Jack the Ripper type muderer in Italy
source
I first heard about this book when I was reading one of the many articles I read in the last two months on Amanda Knox and I have been putting off reading it only because I have it in paper not on my iPad.  This means I don't get to read at night in the dark like I prefer because the hubs is asleep so it is harder to find time to read.   I am not far in but I am loving this book.  I will do a review, evantually. Someday, but it has sex, murder, mystery, and I am only a few chapters in but I can promise you the writing surpasses 50 Shades...of anything.

Alright, I hope everyone is having a safe, warm, and dry Monday!   Happy Fat Tuesday Eve as my Lousiana friend just reminded me.
