Blog Update: It's Ok Thursday

My life is a collection of change right now. Lots going on at work. My sports love failing miserably to end the regular season. My new love taking priority in my life and the obsession I have for mountain biking.

So it's ok that yesterday my worlds collided and baseball took a back seat to mountain biking. It had to be this way. The Rangers haven't been playing well for a couple weeks and after last season I couldn't watch the end of the collapse so I rode Horseshoe Trail.

It's ok that my favorite part of the day was going chest first over my handlebars coming down a hill and landing smack across my breast. It is actually funny. I was pretty happy for once I am not too big and I don't have implants in that area!

It's ok that putting myself first is my priority. I am discovering my self-love and strength. I am realizing that I am pretty strong and pretty amazing and I actually deserve people in my life who are the same. I deserve so much more than I have been willing to accept. It's ok that it has taken me most of my life to figure this out.

It's really ok that a few days ago some fabulous ladies I met thought I was actually in my 20's and not 42. I suddenly realized I have people tell me all the time they think I am 8-10 years younger. I'm good with looking younger even if I'm not.

It is ok that a co-worker said to me 'when you get into something you really go all out.' It is true. I really am a little OCD and when I develop a passion for something I dive in head first and try to soak up the knowledge and skill.

It is ok that as I sit here writing this I want chocolate chip cookies. Want and need are different. I want them. I don't need them at all.

It's ok that while I watch my DVR of Revolution from Monday all I can think is 'where are Bella and Edward when the electricity goes out?' I mean, her dad is there in Chicago.

It's ok that I watched my DVR, chatted with friends on the phone and text and handled my Ranger anger instead of watching the debate last night. I don't really like either choice and want a third option.

It's ok that I still believe in my Texas Rangers!

Blog Update: What I'm Loving Wednesday! Horseshoe

I posted some pictures of Horseshoe Trail last Monday but I was out there last night and finally figured the trail out. I kept losing the trail at the same point the first two times I rode. Last night I figured out where it picks back up and man am I glad I did. I was missing the best part of the trail and by best I mean kick your butt hard and fun.

Here are some photos:

I wish I had taken some of the lake but I was running out of light and they would have been dark.

Speaking of loving I love my new tires!

I was so excited last night because I realized some of the things that were making me a little scared were greatly reduced simply by putting the new tires on. It also helped the ground was still a little tacky.

I started reading this book after my doctor recommended it. This is my regular doctor but she has been my MD for a long time so she knows me. She suggested this could help me move past some of the negative things I say to myself. The truth is, I'm not very nice to me. This book has helped so much. I haven't finished but I already catch myself turning my self-talk around.

Okay, that's all for this week. Maybe soon I will have something exciting to share.

Mobile Monday Blog Update! Yes, I actually still blog! (Kinda)

Without going into a long story, work is a little crazy and my free time is very limited. Most of my lunches are at my desk. I snuck out today just to stay cheerful! So here are some of the photos I have taken over the last week or so since I last blogged.

Old tires in this photo

These are all photos of Horseshoe trail which is becoming one of my favorite places to ride. First because it is close to my house and second because of the lake. I'm still a beginner so I like this trail because I haven't figures out a way to get lost. That last picture is Horseshoe Trail Rd which, for the most part, is closed to all but foot and bike traffic but runs through the trail which crisscrosses it meaning, I can find my way out!

Is it odd I keep my bike here? Actually I am slowly working on cleaning out my spare room. I just don't feel right putting her in the garage. Anyway, look how pretty she looks with her fancy new tires! I can't wait to actually get to try them out. The trails are soaked from all the rain.

Friday night Veronica, Khrystal and I went to Western Days in Lewisville, to partake of bad food, beer, and free country music. Brandon was with us but someone had to take the picture. Thanks B!

Honestly at this point I don't know which band this was.

Saturday rain cancelled my plans for a tour of Oak Cliff Nature Preserve. Next up: Boulder. I'm a little intimidated by Boulder but barring a Saturday playoff game...oh, whatever I will be riding it Saturday somehow.

We did go back to Western Days so I could have some of this stuff! Yay.

Sunday was my friends, my baseball team and Yu!

Here I am with Khrystal......

And Rachel! (Gosh, my hair is getting long finally!)

Well, that's about it! Rangers have one game to clinch the West and we start all over. Pray my friends and I survive.
