Hey, It's Okay Tuesday Hop! No 2 coming at ya!

Airing My Dirty Laundry

Tuesday, how I love you because you are not Monday!  Time to see what's OKAY this week and link up with Airing My Dirty Laundry for 'Hey, It's Okay Tuesday!"   Follow the button above to link up your own post.

-It's okay that sometimes you need a stranger to tell you It's Okay.   I have been feeling so overwhelmed and lost lately and I really needed someone who doesn't know me to say, 'Hey, your feelings are natural.'

-It's okay that it rains constantly.   I would prefer a few days of dry time so we can get some work done and a ballgame in but lately that's not possible.

-It's okay that I am thinking of ways to make our chicken coop cute!
Chickens!
This is what we have so far.  It has legs on it and a little more trim but I am designing a special place for our baby chicks.  My hubby basically modified his deer blind pattern and made it into a chicken coop.  He is so smart and no animals will be hurt in the production of this coop!

-It's okay that every time I look at my new mailbox, I still get annoyed at the guy who hit it and took off, while I was standing in the yard.

-It's okay that the more time I spend working on my yard, house, and garden the more I think I would be just fine on a farm somewhere in the middle of East Texas with goats and chickens.  I am sure I could learn to make goat cheese like a champ and with a bunch of fruit trees, I would go crazy making jams, jellies, and sauces to cook in.   Let me can and produce farm fresh products and I bet I could not only self sustain but live.  Someday....

-It's okay that I discovered, with the loss of Blue Bell Creameries to the plague, that I actually prefer Blue Bunny Frozen Yogurt.  Let my be honest, even before the Listeria crisis I was not a fan of Blue Bell Fro-Yo but now that I have been forced to seek other options, I will never go back.

-It's okay that I recently decided to look into my family tree a little.  I don't know my great grandparents names so this is making it a little tough, especially since I don't feel like calling anyone to ask, but I will figure it out.

-It's okay that I am having spinach salad and hummus for lunch.  I couldn't decide what to bring this morning so I brought nothing.

-It's okay that I am looking forward to GNO tomorrow.  I miss my friends who are on the other side of earth  town and look forward to a night with the ladies even if I am so stupid and miss my husband whenever he isn't around.

-It's okay that I am really looking forward to doing something with said husband in September for our 1st anniversary.   I want to just go away for a few days and not work on the house, land, or anything.  I want to sit by a pool or on a boat and just relax and forget the stress of everyday life.   Maybe sip a cool, frozen something as well.   Sounds incredible.

-It's okay that I know if he has his way, there will be at least fishing involved.  Honestly, I would love to fish on the ocean so IF I can get him to the coast, I am going to take full advantage of a fishing guide.

Thursday Favorite Things: Caddo Lake

If you watched True blood you may recognize this place from the opening.  This is Caddo Lake, the Texas side. I know, I know, it looks like Louisiana but a big, huge chunk of this lake is actually Texas water and apparently this house was once a speak easy during prohibition.

How amazing is that hand made hutch? I wanted it but have no where for its.
What I love about this part of Texas is how amazingly friendly the people are. We went there last year and met a great guide (ask for Chaz) and we met Karen at Johnson's Ranch at Caddo Lake. They are the greatest!  Helpful, kind, and they always have a smile.
(It rained a lot so Johnson's Ranch was wet)

If you come on the 1st or 3rd weekend the trade store is open in Uncertain, Tx and you may find a treasure.   You can always check out Jefferson.   We did but aside from some amazing fudge, I didn't find anything there I couldn't live without or talk myself out of the crazy antique mall prices.  It's not cheap buying antiques and I don't want to have to work on a piece I spent hundreds of dollars on to fix them. :-)

Aren't these tree amazing.  We got home Wednesday afternoon and I sneaked a nap in...and dreamt about these bad boys!
These sweet things just sat there taking a nap and ignoring use

This is the place I want t to retire.  So beautiful!

Shamu, Sea World and facing swim suits

We spent our vacation at Sea World San Antonio this past weekend. Actually, we are on the way back as I write this. I am not much of an amusement park sort of woman but Sea World won me over. Killer Whales, dolphins, sting rays, and all the other amazing sea animals and birds are worth the trip alone.

And then there is the water park....
You know, the water park where you get to parade around in a bathing suit in public in front of perfect strangers and play on water slides and get inter tube wedgies and spend half the day thinking 'my cottage cheese thighs are so disgusting, why couldn't women's bathing suits still go to the ankles?' Or 'does that woman know she shouldn't really be wearing a bikini? I can't believe I am actually kind of jealous that she doesn't care.' Then there is always that thought when you see the perfect life guards 'Oh. My. God. I don't think my body has ever looked like that a day in my life! Everything is so firm and tight.'

Eventually, I realized something, I don't care. I was in San Antonio, Texas where I know absolutely nobody. So I did what any good red headed stubborn fool would do in San Antonio Spurs country, I put my Dallas Mavericks T-Shirt on over my bathing suit mostly because my shoulders were burning and because I am a rebel like that...

And said to heck with the cottage cheese and went out and had fun and tried not to worry about how my fat looked when I was riding the rides because seriously, when you are worried about dying, who cares if you look good doing it, right? :-)

If you get a chance, I really suggest Sea World! I want to take a whale and a dolphin home.

Vacation's all I ever wanted

source: CaddoLake.com

I am in vacation but before I left I locked the house up tight, called my police officer neighbor to watch the house for suspicious activity and then gave him backup from 5 other neighbors who don't pack a pistol for a living AND being the good blogger that I am *Cough *Cough, I scheduled a blog just to tell you that I am taking a real vacation!

Before you pass out from shock know that I haven't taken a real vacation since sometime before Katrina. We went to New Orleans. I don't even know how long ago that was!

Anyway, my honey, my honey's baby, and my babies are enjoying what we hope is some nice Texas-Louisiana weather and a great time at a sweet little cabin on the lake to wrap up "Spring Break".

Y'all be safe and have a great weekend and barring any massive drama from outside forces, I will share the beautiful lake with you next week!

XO
