Blog Update: What I'm Loving Wednesday: Strength

Sleep! I finally got me some! It took me 2 sleeping pills and a screwdriver (The drink kind) but I finally managed to sleep almost uninterrupted except for a strange tweet I sent out an hour after I went to bed:

It made no sense to me. My phone was locked which means I had to unlock it, find twitter asleep, and type that message which seemed to be an answer to something.
I had no idea what until my friend Khrystal sent me a text this morning saying Hey, you never answered me last night. At 9:24 she texted me to ask how I was. I answered her...on twitter at 9:26...kind of. Lol. Oh, my!

I don't know what happened last night while I slept but I woke up and I realized for the first time in a long time how much I truly deserve to have it all and not settle or compromise or be someone's back-up plan. Why? Because I give 200% and only expect 100% in return but I deserve every ounce of that back.

My hazel eyes! I love them! Everyone has brown eyes or blue eyes and a few people have green or grey eyes but I have brown and green eyes and they come from my grandmother. I am lucky to have her eyes and my strawberry blonde red hair! I am no cookie cutter woman, that's for sure. Anyone can be a bottle blonde. Not this lady! I'm me and

Amen! I love this because I am so tired of people treating me and others like we don't matter when the truth is actually they don't.

This is my new philosophy of life. You respect me or you are gone. Honestly I have no time left for anyone who is going to use me for their own purpose. I have my own purpose in life and I am going to get what I want. Everything I want. Nobody is going to stand in my way. Not you and not me.

I know this is true because God had a bigger purpose in all our lives. I am finally done fighting Him. I am just going to ride it out and trust Him. I know what I want and I know He will provide it, somehow. Nothing is impossible with God. Nothing!

Finally I love the song Blessings by Laura Story. Here are the lyrics. (Sorry I can't get the link to work from the mobile)

We pray for blessings
We pray for peace
Comfort for family, protection while we sleep
We pray for healing, for prosperity
We pray for Your mighty hand to ease our suffering
All the while, You hear each spoken need
Yet love us way too much to give us lesser things

'Cause what if Your blessings come through raindrops
What if Your healing comes through tears
What if a thousand sleepless nights
Are what it takes to know You're near
What if trials of this life are Your mercies in disguise

We pray for wisdom
Your voice to hear
And we cry in anger when we cannot feel You near
We doubt Your goodness, we doubt Your love
As if every promise from Your Word is not enough
All the while, You hear each desperate plea
And long that we have faith to believe

'Cause what if Your blessings come through raindrops
What if Your healing comes through tears
What if a thousand sleepless nights
Are what it takes to know You're near
And what if trials of this life are Your mercies in disguise

When friends betray us
When darkness seems to win
We know that pain reminds this heart
That this is not, this is not our home
It's not our home

'Cause what if Your blessings come through raindrops
What if Your healing comes through tears
And what if a thousand sleepless nights
Are what it takes to know You're near
What if my greatest disappointments
Or the aching of this life
Is the revealing of a greater thirst this world can't satisfy
And what if trials of this life
The rain, the storms, the hardest nights
Are Your mercies in disguise.

I have cried a river of healing tears and because of it, I am stronger today. I know my own value today. Thank you, God for Your mercies in disguise.

So, what are you loving?

Simply,
Laura

Great post!! I met Laura Story last year, she was nice!! :)

That tweet is so funny. A combo of sleeping pills and alcohol!

And you are right, you deserve to have it all!!

:)

Laura @Simply Me, The way I see it said...

I remember when you met her, I just didn't know who whe was at that point. LOL.
Thanks, it is amazing how much clarity a little sleep and a lot of praying provides. I feel much better.
